Yol-\u0130\u015f Sendikas\u0131\u2019n\u0131n ayd\u0131nl\u0131k y\u00fcz\u00fc ve emektar sendikac\u0131 Tevfik \u00d6z\u00e7elik sevenlerinin g\u00f6zya\u015flar\u0131 aras\u0131nda, Mersin Mezitli Mezarl\u0131\u011f\u0131\u2019nda topra\u011fa verildi. Ankara\u2019da bir s\u00fcredir tedavi g\u00f6rd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc hastanede ya\u015fam\u0131 sona eren Tevfik \u00d6z\u00e7elik\u2019in cenaze namaz\u0131na Mersin b\u00fcy\u00fck\u015fehir belediye Ba\u015fkan\u0131 Vahap se\u00e7er, CHP Mersin \u0130l ba\u015fkan\u0131 Adil Aktay, Yol-\u0130\u015f Sendikas\u0131 Genel Ba\u015fkan\u0131 Ramazan A\u011far ve y\u00f6netim kurulu \u00fcyelerinin yan\u0131 s\u0131ra \u00e7ok say\u0131da sendikac\u0131, siyasi isim, dost, akraba ve sevenleri kat\u0131ld\u0131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

76 ya\u015f\u0131nda hayata veda eden Tevfik \u00d6z\u00e7elik, ikindi namaz\u0131na m\u00fcteakip k\u0131l\u0131nan cenaze namaz\u0131n\u0131n ard\u0131ndan g\u00f6zya\u015flar\u0131 aras\u0131nda topra\u011fa verildi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1945 y\u0131l\u0131nda G\u00fcm\u00fc\u015fhane\u2019nin Torul il\u00e7esinde do\u011fdu.<\/strong> \u0130lk ve Orta \u00d6\u011frenimini Tarsus ve Mersin\u2019de tamamlad\u0131. Lise mezunu olup, \u00f6\u011frencilik y\u0131llar\u0131nda ve sonras\u0131nda amat\u00f6r tiyatro oyunculu\u011fu ve serbest in\u015faat i\u015f\u00e7ili\u011fi yapt\u0131. <\/strong>1970 Mart ay\u0131nda Karayollar\u0131nda Ara\u015ft\u0131rma Teknisyeni <\/strong>olarak g\u00f6reve ba\u015flad\u0131. 1972 y\u0131l\u0131nda sendikal \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalara ba\u015flad\u0131. 1976 y\u0131l\u0131nda, Mersin Yol-\u0130\u015f Sendikas\u0131 Genel Ba\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131na se\u00e7ildi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1980\u20131983 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda Yol-\u0130\u015f T\u00fcketim Kooperatifleri Birli\u011fi (YOL-KOOP) <\/strong>Ba\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 yapt\u0131. Sendikalar Yasas\u0131 de\u011fi\u015ftikten sonra 1983-1991 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda da Yol-\u0130\u015f Sendikas\u0131 Mersin 1 Nolu \u015eube Ba\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 yapt\u0131. 1989 y\u0131l\u0131nda yap\u0131lan Yol-\u0130\u015f\u2019in 3.Ola\u011fan Genel Kurulunda Y\u00f6netim Kurulu Yedek \u00fcyeli\u011finin ikinci s\u0131ras\u0131nda yer ald\u0131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1991 May\u0131s ay\u0131nda Genel Sekreter A.Nejat Kara\u00f6z\u2019\u00fcn vefat\u0131 dolay\u0131s\u0131yla Genel Sekreterli\u011fe getirildi. 1992 y\u0131l\u0131nda Yol-\u0130\u015f\u2019in 4.Ola\u011fan Genel Kurulunda ve yine 19 Kas\u0131m 1995 tarihinde yap\u0131lan 5.Ola\u011fan Genel Kurulunda ve yine 10 Ekim 1999 tarihinde yap\u0131lan 6.Ola\u011fan Genel Kurulunda da ayn\u0131 g\u00f6reve getirildi. Sendikan\u0131n 14 Eyl\u00fcl 2003 tarihinde yap\u0131lan 7. Ola\u011fan Genel Kurulunda ve Temmuz 2007\u2019de yap\u0131lan 8. Ola\u011fan Genel kurullar\u0131nda da yeniden Genel Sekreterli\u011fe se\u00e7ildi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayn\u0131 zamanda 1993 y\u0131l\u0131ndan beri Uluslararas\u0131 \u0130n\u015faat ve A\u011fa\u00e7 \u0130\u015f\u00e7ileri Enternasyoneli (IFBWW) Y\u00f6netim Kurulu \u00fcyesidir. <\/strong>Tevfik \u00d6z\u00e7elik, evli ve \u00fc\u00e7 \u00e7ocuk babas\u0131 idi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BWI celebrates life of YOL-IS General Secretary Tevfik Ozcelik<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

BWI mourns the passing of Tevfik Ozcelik, General Secretary of the Turkish Union of Road, Construction and Building Workers (YOL-IS), last 31 October 2021 at the age of 76 after a battle with illness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tevfik was a seasoned trade unionist and strong defender of workers’ rights. He was introduced to the trade union movement in 1970 when he started working as a young technician at the General Directorate of Highways. He joined YOL-IS in 1972 and rose from its ranks. He was a workplace representative, branch board member and branch president, and in 1991, he was elected as the union\u2019s General Secretary in 1991.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tevfik was a prominent figure in the Turkish trade union movement\u2019s major struggles and victories, such as \u201cThe Spring Actions,\u201d \u201cThe Great March,\u201d the 1995 strikes and the successful granting of permanent jobs to subcontracted public sector road workers. As a trade union leader, he generously shared his knowledge, skills and experiences to fellow trade unionists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was also a trade union internationalist. Tevfik was one of the pillars of YOL-IS\u2019 international work. Throughout his career, he was active in the International Federation of Building and Wood Workers (IFBWW) and later, with BWI, where he built strong solidarity between his country\u2019s trade union movement and the global community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A true friend and colleague to many trade unionists and BWI affiliates in the Pan-European region, BWI condoles with Tevfik\u2019s family, friends and YOL-IS comrades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will honour and celebrate the life of Tevfik by continuing his struggle for a better future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
